3. Sources of Information

We collect information:

  • directly from you when you register, enter valuation data, create a listing, upload a document, send a message, subscribe, or request help;
  • from your organization, authorized team members, brokers, advisors, buyers, sellers, referral partners, or representatives;
  • automatically from apps, websites, devices, cookies, software-development kits, logs, and similar technology;
  • from Apple, Google, payment providers, authentication providers, analytics providers, communications vendors, and other service providers;
  • from public records, business websites, professional-license databases, and commercially available business information where lawful; and
  • from Axis Business Advisors or another professional provider when necessary to respond to a request or maintain a related engagement.

4. How We Use Information

We may use information to:

  • provide, personalize, maintain, and improve the apps and website;
  • calculate valuation estimates, create reports, save user histories, and display methodology information;
  • publish and manage listings, support search and matching, and facilitate communications;
  • process subscriptions, entitlements, upgrades, cancellations, and support requests;
  • send transactional notices, security alerts, requested reports, product updates, and permitted marketing communications;
  • respond to requests for brokerage, valuation, financing, marketing, AI, or related services;
  • detect fraud, spam, misuse, unauthorized access, and security incidents;
  • debug, analyze performance, conduct research, and develop new products;
  • verify identity, authority, professional status, and compliance;
  • enforce agreements, resolve disputes, protect rights, and comply with legal obligations; and
  • create aggregated or deidentified information that does not reasonably identify a person.

5. How We Disclose Information

We may disclose information to:

  • Service providers: cloud hosting, databases, authentication, analytics, crash reporting, email, SMS, customer support, document, AI, security, and payment or subscription vendors operating under contractual restrictions.
  • Marketplace users: information intentionally included in a listing, profile, inquiry, message, NDA request, or transaction workflow. Confidential information is disclosed according to selected permissions and platform settings.
  • Axis Business Advisors and professional providers: when you request or consent to brokerage, valuation, financing, transaction, marketing, technology, or other professional assistance.
  • Your organization: account administrators, authorized team members, brokerage managers, and other users associated with an organizational account.
  • Legal and safety recipients: courts, regulators, law enforcement, auditors, insurers, advisors, and affected parties when reasonably necessary to comply with law, enforce terms, investigate fraud, or protect rights and safety.
  • Business transaction recipients: parties and advisors involved in a financing, merger, acquisition, reorganization, asset sale, or similar transaction, subject to appropriate confidentiality protections.
  • At your direction: any person or service you authorize.

We require service providers to use personal information only for contracted purposes and to provide protections appropriate to the information.

6. Sale, Sharing, and Targeted Advertising

We do not sell personal information for money. We do not currently share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising as those terms are defined under California law.

If our practices change, we will update this Policy and provide any legally required opt-out mechanism, including recognition of applicable browser-based opt-out preference signals.

Disclosing information to service providers, app stores, payment processors, or professionals at your request is not treated by us as a sale of personal information.

7. Cookies, Analytics, and Similar Technology

Websites may use cookies, pixels, local storage, or similar technology for essential functions, preferences, security, analytics, and performance. Mobile apps may use software-development kits and device identifiers for authentication, subscriptions, diagnostics, analytics, and fraud prevention.

You may control browser cookies through browser settings. Mobile operating systems may provide privacy and tracking controls. Blocking essential technology may prevent portions of the services from functioning.

We do not respond to legacy “Do Not Track” signals that lack a common legal standard. Where legally required, we will honor recognized opt-out preference signals such as Global Privacy Control for applicable sale or sharing activity.

8. Apple App Store, Google Play, and Subscriptions

Apple and Google independently collect and process information associated with downloads, purchases, subscriptions, refunds, device accounts, and app-store activity under their own privacy policies.

We may receive transaction identifiers, product IDs, entitlement status, purchase dates, renewal status, and limited account or device information needed to provide paid features. We generally do not receive complete payment-card details for app-store purchases.

9. AI-Assisted Features

Some features may use artificial-intelligence providers to generate, summarize, categorize, or analyze information. Information submitted to those features may be transmitted to contracted AI service providers for processing.

We seek to configure providers to process information for service delivery and security rather than independent advertising. Do not submit confidential, regulated, or sensitive information to an AI feature unless the interface authorizes it and you have the right to provide it.

10. Brokerage and Other Professional-Service Requests

BizMarket Pro is a separate technology platform. Axis Business Advisors is the licensed brokerage behind professional brokerage and transaction services offered through the platform.

When you request contact, a valuation consultation, listing representation, buyer assistance, financing assistance, or another professional service, we may disclose your contact, business, valuation, listing, and request information to Axis Business Advisors or an identified professional provider so the request can be evaluated and answered.

Submitting a request does not automatically create a professional relationship. Separate agreements and disclosures may be required.

11. Data Retention

We retain information only as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this Policy, including providing accounts and services, maintaining reports and listings, supporting subscriptions, preventing fraud, resolving disputes, complying with legal and tax obligations, enforcing agreements, and maintaining security and backups.

Retention periods vary by category. For example:

  • active account information is generally retained while the account remains open;
  • valuation reports and user-entered data may remain until deleted by the user, the account is deleted, or the applicable retention period expires;
  • marketplace messages and transaction records may be retained for safety, dispute, audit, or legal purposes;
  • billing and transaction records may be retained as required for accounting, tax, fraud-prevention, or app-store reconciliation;
  • security logs and backups are retained for limited operational cycles; and
  • deidentified or aggregated information may be retained without time limitation where it cannot reasonably be linked back to a person.

Deletion from active systems may take time to propagate through backups. Backup copies are isolated from ordinary use and deleted or overwritten according to normal schedules unless retention is legally required.

12. Security

We use administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect information, such as access controls, authentication, encryption in transit where supported, logging, vendor controls, and security monitoring.

No system is completely secure. You are responsible for using a strong password, protecting devices and credentials, and notifying us promptly of suspected unauthorized access.

13. Your Privacy Choices and Rights

Depending on location and applicable law, you may have rights to:

  • access or know what personal information is processed;
  • correct inaccurate personal information;
  • delete personal information;
  • receive a portable copy of certain information;
  • opt out of sale, sharing, targeted advertising, or certain profiling;
  • restrict or object to certain processing;
  • withdraw consent where processing relies on consent; and
  • appeal a denied privacy request.

Submit a request through an in-app privacy or deletion function where available, or email [email protected]. We may verify your identity and authority. Authorized agents may submit requests where permitted, but we may require proof of authorization and direct identity verification.

We will not discriminate against you for exercising applicable privacy rights.

14. California Privacy Disclosures

To the extent the California Consumer Privacy Act, as amended, applies, California residents may request to know, access, correct, or delete personal information and may opt out of sale or sharing. Our current sale and sharing practices are described in Section 6.

During the preceding 12 months, we may have collected the categories listed in Section 2 and disclosed them for business purposes to the recipient categories listed in Section 5. We do not knowingly sell or share personal information of consumers under 16.

California requests may be submitted to [email protected]. We may retain information when an exception applies, such as completing a requested transaction, maintaining security and integrity, debugging, exercising legal rights, complying with law, or making lawful internal uses compatible with the context of collection.

California’s “Shine the Light” law may permit users to request information about certain disclosures for direct marketing. We do not disclose personal information to third parties for their own direct marketing without choice or consent.

15. Children’s Privacy

The services are intended for adults and business professionals. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13, and users must be at least 18. If you believe a child submitted information, contact us so we can investigate and delete it where appropriate.

16. International Users

The services are operated from the United States. Information may be processed and stored in the United States and other countries where service providers operate. Those locations may have different privacy laws.

Where European Economic Area, United Kingdom, or similar law applies, processing may be based on contract performance, legitimate interests, legal obligations, or consent, depending on the activity. Users may also have a right to complain to a local supervisory authority.

17. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Policy to reflect new products, providers, practices, or legal requirements. The updated version will be posted with a new effective date. Material changes may also be communicated through the app, website, account, or email.
